Parthena Charalampidou has studied English Language and Literature in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and she holds an MA on Language and Communication Sciences with specialization in Translation Studies. Her PhD dissertation focuses on Translation and Website Localization and her research interests revolve around semiotic, rhetorical and cultural approaches to translation. She is particularly interested in website localization and in the application of technology and corpora to translation.

The last two years she has been conducting postdoctoral research on university website universalization studying the way Greek universities are self-projected on cyberspace through the translation of their websites into English.

She has worked as a freelance translator and she is a member of scientific associations for translation and semiotics. She has participated in national and international conferences and her research has been published in various scientific journals, volumes and conference proceedings.
